The Weekend

This Labor Day weekend is not one to relax. LOL!
We went to Grinnell Friday night for a softball tournament that lasted through Sunday.
It was a lot of fun ad we got to see a lot of really good teams playing very well.
We played and watched a lot of nail biting close games!
Boone had three teams go this year. The STORMERS, the Thunder and the Bombers.
The Stormers and Thunder had to play four games before they got into bracket play. The Bombers only had to play three because there were less teams in their pools. The Stormers won one game in their pool but then lost in bracket play. The Bombers didn't win any games in pool play but ended up winning in bracket play. The Thunder just went and had a wonderfully fun time. I think all the girls had lots of fun and learned a lot.

Today is Labor Day Monday. Just lounge around day until Elainie has volley ball practice at 3:00pm then Alexis has gymnastics at 6:00pm.

Lucky me I had last night and have tonight off for a holiday But then it's back to work a regular work schedule! In October I finally will earn my one week of vacation time! Yeay! I can't wait!

I gotta run for now... later!

Alexis - Yeay!

Alexis is all excited to start back to Gymnastics tommorrow!

She will be going going three days per week as a Level 4 in Progression to Competitive Gymnastics.

So, she will be learning more polish on what she already knows and she will be learning more things also.
Otherwise she would go two days per week for Level 4. She will not be competing, she will just be learning improvements for the possibilty to compete down the road. She is looking forward to going back!

Good Luck Alexis!

In Softball and other News...

In SOFTBALL news...

Elainie and the Boone Stormers 14U team has been practicing HARD!
The Labor Day Tournament in Grinnell isn't that far away!
The assistant coach has been so hard on the team that one girl quit. Elainie was a little piffed at first too, but everything got handled and all is going well now. We picked up another girl to replace the one that quit so we still have enough girls! Yeay!

On Thurs. evening the Stormers will be scrimmaging against the Boone Thunder & Lightening 14U team of which Elainie was a big part of earlier this summer. Thunder will also be attending the tournament in Grinnell over Labor Day weekend. And so possibly will be the Boone Bombers 14U team. So, we are hoping, with all the Boone girls there, that everyone has a lot of FUN!!!!!!!

We will be rooting for and supporting all Boone teams!

Go BOONE Softball Teams!!!!!

In other News...

1.) I've added a new photo album for Alexis' most current gymnastics pics!

2.) I will soon be editing the photo albums from this site.
I need to verify that I have the photos somewhere on my computer so that I can print them and then I will delete them.
So, there won't be as much to look through. Yeay!

Sands

TWO    FRIENDS    WERE    WALKING
THROUGH    THE    DESERT.
DURING    SOME    POINT    OF    THE
JOURNEY,    THEY    HAD    AN
ARGUMENT;    AND    ONE    FRIEND
SLAPPED    THE    OTHER    ONE
IN    THE    FACE.

THE    ONE    WHO    GOT    SLAPPED
WAS    HURT,    BUT    WITHOUT
SAYING    ANYTHING,
WROTE    IN    THE    SAND:

TODAY    MY    BEST    FRIEND
SLAPPED   ME    IN    THE    FACE.

THEY    KEPT    ON    WALKING,
UNTIL    THEY    FOUND     AN    OASIS,
WHERE    THEY    DECIDED
TO   TAKE    A     BATH
THE    ONE ; WHO    HAD    BEEN
SLAPPED GOT    STUCK    IN    THE
MIRE    AND    STARTED    DROWNING,
BUT    THE    FRIEND  SAVED    HIM.

AFTER    HE    RECOVERED    FROM
THE    NEAR    DROWNING,
HE    WROTE    ON    A    STONE:

"TODAY    MY    BEST    FRIEND
SAVED    MY    LIFE ".

THE    FRIEND    WHO    HAD    SLAPPED
AND    SAVED    HIS    BEST    FRIEND
ASKED    HIM, "AFTER  I  HURT    YOU,
YOU    WROTE    IN     THE    SAND    AND    NOW,
YOU    WRITE    ON    A     STONE,  WHY?"

THE   FRIEND    REPLIED
"WHEN    SOMEONE    HURTS    US
WE    SHOULD    WRITE    IT    DOWN
IN    SAND,   WHERE    WINDS    OF
FORGIVENESS    CAN     ERASE    IT AWAY.
BUT,    WHEN  SOMEONE    DOES
SOMETHING    GOOD    FOR    US,
WE    MUST    ENGRAVE    IT   IN     STONE
WHERE    NO    WIND
CAN    EVER    ERASE    IT."

LEARN    TO    WRITE
YOUR    HURTS    IN
THE    SAND    AND    TO
CARVE    YOUR
BENEFITS    IN    STONE.

THEY    SAY    IT    TAKES    A
MINUTE    TO    FIND    A    SPECIAL
PERSON,    AN    HOUR    TO
APPRECIATE    THEM,    A    DAY
TO    LOVE    THEM,    BUT    THEN
AN    ENTIRE    LIFE
TO    FORGET     THEM.

SEND ; TH IS     PHRASE    TO THE    PEOPLE    YOU'LL   NEVER
FORGET.     I JUST DID.

IF    YOU    DON'T
SEND    IT    TO    ANYONE,
IT    MEANS    YOU'RE    IN    A
HURRY    AND    THAT    YOU'VE
FORGOTTEN    YOUR    FRIENDS.
TAKE    THE    TIME    TO    LIVE!

DO    NOT   VALUE    THE    THINGS
YOU    HAVE    IN    YOUR    LIFE,     BUT    VALUE
WHO    YOU    HAVE    IN    YOUR    L IFE !

Family Room

I FOUND the couch that I have been searching for! It is HUGE! I found it at Home Makers!
It was delivered Aug. 1st and the kids absolutely LOVE it!
I also picked up a new TV cart for the TV at Redeker's. It sure is an improvement over the old end tables the old TV sat on!
In amazing comfort, we watched the movie Premonition the other night. Awesome!

Here are some pics:

Stuff

Time.... sure flies when all ya do is work and sleep!
We installed a new privacy fence. We replaced a 4 ft. with a 6 foot because the neighbor guy to the south was always hanging out in his driveway when we were out on the deck. Then we added fence to the North to provide privacy from those neighbors so we can enjoy our deck more often! It has been great!

Alexis turned the big 9, on July 17! We had some friends over and thena family party on Sun. to celebrate her and Logan's birthdays! Logan is now a TEENAGER!

Ginger and I made breakfast for the residents this morning. It smelled really good! I'm going to have to make it here at home!

I worked NC PRN Fri. 8am to 1:30pm. Lots of heavy care residents... made me remember why I moved on... ten I worked Sat. 10pm - 6am in HWH with a nurse from Boone. We had a pretty good night. We talked a lot about people we mutually knew. LOL!

I went to Homemakers a few weeks ago to look at sofas. Found one I loved, but it was expensive so I looked around and Redeker's and the American Store and couldn't find anything that compared, so I went back yesterday and bought this sofa. It is huge and won't be delivered until Aug. 1. I can't wait. I'm nervous that Jason will hate it but... oh well. Elainie and Alexis went with me and they absolutely LOVE it!  And I'm sure John will also. It is so comfortable... perfect for a FAMILY ROOM! I will have to rearrange furniture but that's okay with me.

Just think - the kids will be back in school in one month! I can't wait, but only because, I will be able to get back to my proper sleeping pattern then. Yeay! I'm so tired of being... TIRED!

All 4 now!
