July 13 WORK!I have been substituting this week for a driver who is on vacation. I have been having a lot of fun driving the company truck to pick up and deliver parts.
I have also started clinicals for school. That is tough work. CNA's do a lot of physically and emotionally demanding work. The residents are wonderful though. It's fun to hear them talk most the time. Sometimes they can be rude and stubborn, but you still gotta treat them with the respect that they deserve. I have learned a lot the past few days. It has been a real eye opener on the affects of aging.
Last night we took blood pressures. I hadn't been able to get one in the classroom, so I was very excited to get them in clinicals!
I have three more shifts left before clinicals are done. On to StateThe All Stars won the District 1 Championship game.
Now we are on to State Tournament in Burlington!
Go Boone! July 07 All Stars WinOn July 6, Boone All-Star team played their first game together as a team.
The stands were packed with fans rooting them to victory!
All the girls did very well, they had some really good hits, and everyone was so proud of them!
Elainie's first at bat she said she was nervous and she did strike out.
Her second at bat resulted in a great hit to right field that scored three runs (including herself) for the team. Everyone was on their feet cheering!
As she rounded third base, Mike told her, "Look! Look! and then Go! Go! Go!"
She had the biggest smile on her face crossing home plate! She threw her arms in the air and almost did a little dance! Her team mates came out and congratulated her.
There is no way to put into words the pride a parent feels when your child tries so hard at practices and then hits a home run during a game!
And the best part, is that of the now eight home runs she has hit in her Little League career, this is the first one to be caught on video tape.
The next game is on Friday, July 8th.
