The girls and I spent Memorial Day Weekend painting John's room.

I added photos of this to the Rebuilding Photo Album.

The areas that are not painted, such as along the top of the walls and on the support stub wall, will be trimmed with wood trim soon.

John spent the first night in his room since the beginning of this project in January.

The reason he said was because, "Alexis' room is way too hot!"

Now he understands why she doesn't sleep there during the hotter months of the year. LOL!

John's room, if the door is kept closed stays rather cool thanks probably to all the insulation that room now has.

And yes, we have our central air on because of the horrible humidity of the last couple days.

The paint really makes it look like we are finally on the home stretch of getting this room done. Enjoy the photos!

 

 

John's bedroom is completely primed now.

Yesterday we took paint samples to Redeker's to pick one that would look good with his new carpeting. I held about ten colors up to it and John picked the final color. Though he isn't happy it's not black, he's happy he got to pick which color it will end up being. LOL!

We also picked up his new desk and book stand, plus his new curtain rods and curtains. He likes all these because they are BLACK! So they are cool! 

 

Today the plans are to pick up the  paint, go to a ball game in the morning, come home and put one coat of paint on the walls, go to another ball game, come home to put a second coat of paint on...

 

It is looking more and more like a room each day! I can't wait for it to be done and he is back in there! The girls will be estatic too!

I have a three day weekend! A rare occurance for me... so I'm taking advantage of it. And since I work Monday, a holiday - I get paid for taking today off. Can't bet that!

 

Today I am priming John's bedroom. Priming over the new drywall. It is harder than expected. It is definatly taking a long time! LOL! I started about 7am. I took a break to get the kids to school and came home and continued working. So far I have the ceiling, the alcove and one partial wall done with one coat.

When working on the ceiling it was hard to tell where I had been in some places. The walls are much easier. I need to get back up there and continue. Lots to do today...

Elainie had a spring band concert May 8th.

After she was done, we stayed to watch the 7th & 8th grade orchestra and the 8th grade band. The concert went very well. Delightful music was heard by all.
