    Little League

Opening Ceremonies was Thursday night. The gym was packed as usual!
I've uploaded a few snapshots I took of the girls. Elainie and Alexis were all eager to play opening games Saturday... but then the rains came and all games were canceled. Bummer!
So first games for our seasons will be on Thursday night. Alexis and the Comets will play against Madrid and Elainie and the Royals will play against the Robins. That is, if these games don't get canceled too. There is supposed to be rain through Monday and again on Thursday.
Wish us luck cuz these girls wanna PLAY BALL!

     LOL!

    For the Birds

When I got home from work today, I noticed that someone had started to add on a new bedroom to our house. There was no evidence of this new construction when I left this morning at 5:30am.
Needless to say, I didn't think it was being built in an appropriate place and therefore had to demolish and clean up the area.
Hope the soon to be "tenants" weren't too upset... LOL!

    Sands of Time?

Another Wednesday off and I was trying to figure out something to do.
    Sleep?
    Nah... I had enough...
so I decided to look for a project since I, myself, can't go onto the next step in John's room.
I thought about the deckside project... nah, can't do that myself either.
So I thought... the kids will be playing in the yard more again this summer.
    The dreaded sandbox!
The weed infested sandbox. Any improvement to that I CAN do!
So, I took a shovel and a spade... a board... and my time... and cleared out all the weeds and broken toy peices. Then I went to WM. There I purchased black plastic and five bags of colored sand. NO, couldn't have just any sand... ORANGE sand.
I finished with what I had and it already looks 110% better!
It does need a few more bags of sand, but I can pick those up later.
Hope Alexis and the neighborhood kids like it.
    Enjoy the pic!

    April 14

    He walked... I walk.

He could hear the crowds screaming "crucify," "crucify"...

He could hear the hatred in their voices,
    These were his chosen people.
He loved them, And they were going to crucify him.
He was beaten, bleeding and weakened... his heart was broken,
    But still He walked.

He could see the crowd as he came from the palace.
He knew each of the faces so well.
    He had created them.
He knew every smile, laugh, and shed tear,
But now they were contorted with rage and anger...
His heart broke, But still He walked.

    Was he scared?
You and I would have been,
So his humanness would have mandated that he was.
He felt alone. His disciples had left, denied, and even betrayed him.

He searched the crowd for a loving face and he saw very few.
Then he turned his eyes to the only one that mattered
And he knew that he would never be alone.

He looked back at the crowd, at the people who were spitting
At him, throwing rocks at him and mocking him and he knew
That because of him, they would never be alone.  So for them, He walked.

The sounds of the hammer striking the spikes echoed through the crowd.
The sounds of his cries echoed even louder,
The cheers of the crowd, as his hands and feet
Were nailed to the cross, intensified with each blow.

Loudest of all was the still small voice inside his
Heart that whispered "I am with you my son,"
And God's heart broke.  He had let his son walk.

Jesus could have asked God to end his suffering,
But instead he asked God to forgive,  Not to forgive him,
But to forgive the ones who were persecuting him.

As he hung on that cross, dying an unimaginable death,
He looked out and saw, not only the faces in the crowd,
But also, the face of every person yet to be, And his heart filled with love.

As his body was dying, his heart was alive.
Alive with the limitless, Unconditional love he feels for each of us.
    That is why He walked.

When I forget how much My God loves me, I remember his walk.
When I wonder if I can be forgiven, I remember his walk.
When I need reminded of how to live like Christ, I think of his walk.
And to show him how much I love him, each day I turn my eyes to him,
    And I walk.

    HAPPY EASTER!!!

    Psych!

I signed up to take a summer class at DMACC. I registered to take Psch 101 on Wednesday evenings. It is a required course for nursing and getting it out of the way before entering the Nursing Program is a great idea.
However, I will have to miss a couple of the girls' softball games.  But there will be plenty of games to see.
I also thought about taking some Phlebotomy classes. That could be interesting. I would get to say, "I'm here to suck your blood!" and mean it... LOL! Just kidding! But it's a thought to keep in the back of my head.
Taking the evening class was a big decision though because it runs real late and I have to get up early in the morning to go to work. That will be challenging but others have done it so I'm sure I can too.
This class start May 31st and go til Aug. 9th.
I can't wait to get back to school!

    Decisions, decisions!

Today John announced that he decided he doesn't want his room to be black, white, and Red anymore.
    Nope.
Nearly scared me as most the stuff we planned on is black and white and silver with red accents.
He now wants it to be black, white, and GREEN!
Changing the Red stuff to Green stuff won't be that difficult so that's a good thing.

Elainie announced that she wants all white furniture when we redo her room. Uhm... okay. And that she hates the comforter that she currently has... and that she wants her walls to be purple...
Then Alexis said she wants Elainie's comforter set (this is okay with me...) and that she wants her room to be blue and purple.
Uhm... well... we'll have to wait and see.
There is plenty of time between now and then.

    Kids!

    Our Room

Wednesday started out with a bang... literally! I had the day off...
The kids were getting ready for school and the dog was laying on my bed. John decided to take a running jump onto the bed to pet the dog. The poor bed, already on a bruised leg, went down quickly. Yes, the bed had been "fixed" before, so I decided it was time for a change.
I went to Redeker's and found a bed that I really liked. I had decided awhile back that I wanted a more casual look and when I ever got around to redoing our bedroom that comfy, rather than formal, was the way I was going to go.
So I bought it. It sits up much higher than the old bed, plus I finally have a headboard and footboard! The mattress set also just feels so much better! It's terrific!

Pictured below is a photo of our new bed:
