Car AccidentElainie was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in an accident on Friday. That is so scary! And to think, soon she will be up in the age where every time she leaves the house, I will worry about her and her friends being involved in car accidents. Of course, her brother also.
Luckily there was only one person injured and that person is now okay. The person driving the other car left the scene. What kind of person leaves the scene of an injury accident? In my opinion... A loser - that's who!
We got two calls yesterday from two different insurance companies. The first one just said he was from Allinace Insurance and wanted to know f he could talk to Elainie. I told him no. He didn't properly identify himself as the agent for the loser who left the scene. I wasn't going to give him any information.
The other call was from the friends vehicle insurance co. That agent gave her name, the company, and who she was calling on behalf of, and she basically wanted the same info. But I was pleased that she was so informative.
Then I called our own insurance agent just to ask him some questions and he thought it strange that the first guy didn't identify himself or who he represented. That wasn't right.
Elainie is okay. She was just shaken and scared. The only thing that made me upset about it was that the accident happened around 7pm, and no one called us until 8:30pm. That's an hour and a half and anything could've happened in that time. Not even the police or hospital had them call us. And several of the people around knew her and had cell phones. Just another reason, I guess, to look into getting the kids a cell phone or two to share. Maybe one of those pre-paid kinds. I'm looking into those today, see what is involved in them.
Anyone know anything about those? Good? Bad? Indifferent?
January 03 Update...2006I skipped making an entry in December. It was a hard last couple months. And continues to be hard. But within the bad, is also some good news.
On Nov. 18, 2005, I went for a shift change from 2nd shift to 1st shift. With it was a raise in hours two weeks per month, so I work 32 one week and 40 the next...and so on. I made the switch on Dec. 9th. I really like all the people I work with on 1st shift. the hardest part is waking up at 5 am!!! But I like being home when the kids get home from school. I do miss the 2nd shifter people also, but I do get to see them at the shift change. They hired a lot of new 2nd shifters also... so I get to see new faces too.
Happy New Year Everyone!
